America 250 Block Party

In honor of our nation’s 250th birthday, organizers are planning a two-evening Fourth of July celebration in the community of Petoskey. Festivities include a new America 250 Hometown Block Party on Friday, July 3, from 5–8 p.m. in Pennsylvania Park with a community picnic, live music, street performers, and fun family activities. While details are still being finalized for the Hometown Block Party expect a fun, family-friendly, community celebration.

Parade - Fourth of July Parade

6:00 PM

Enjoy the charm of this classic, small-town parade as it makes its way from the line-up area at Petoskey High School, down Mitchell Street, across on Petoskey Street to Lake Street and then up Lake Street where it ends at the gazebo in Pennsylvania Park. The Parade will feature close to 50-units including the award-winning Petoskey High School Marching Band and the famous Petoskey Steel Drum Band, as well as many other fun entries. The best parade viewing is on Mitchell Street and Lake Street Downtown Petoskey.

Live Entertainment

7:00-10:00 PM

Entertainment is sponsored by Petoskey Visitors Bureau. Live musical performances to take place between the end of the parade and before the fireworks. Beginning with a street concert by the Petoskey Steel Drum Band (sponsored by Drost) following the parade. The band will perform on Lake Street near the gazebo from its Double Decker Performance Trailer. The approximate performance time will be 7:00.

Starting at 7:30 pm, and continuing until the fireworks show live musical entertainment takes place along the waterfront.

Line up to be announced! Stage management and sound by Recovery N.O.T.E.S.

Petoskey is famous for its “Million Dollar Sunsets” and organizers have planned another spectacular sunset over Little Traverse Bay for precisely 9:30 p.m. on July 4th. Take a look westward over the Bay for a beautiful sight.

The Fireworks Show is Petoskey’s grand celebration that will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display along the shores of Little Traverse Bay. The best viewing area is in Petoskey’s Bayfront Park.
